Assistant Sales Manager – Local Hire

About the role

Responsible for achieving hotel targets by optimising revenues through an assigned account base, as well as prospecting new clients in assigned markets. Assigned markets may change according to hotel needs. Performance is measured against revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage key accounts in an assigned geographic area, maximise revenue, achieve personal targets and increase market share versus competitors.
• Prospect and acquire new accounts across all market segments, including European markets where applicable.
• Conduct site inspections and follow corporate SOPs.
• Follow up tentative bookings, maintain detailed knowledge of competitor set and hotel services.
• Ensure timely and SMART contracting during annual rate negotiations.
• Attend trade shows, sales blitzes, workshops and other promotional events.
• Assist the Director of Sales in defining and executing the annual sales action plan.
• Support budget preparation with statistics and forecasts of account performance.
• Execute sales actions within the allocated cost budget and document them in the SFA system.
• Update the OPERA contact database and cross‑sell other Kempinski Hotels.
• Participate in the duty manager rota as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar sales role, preferably within a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles and best practices.
