Associate Professor – Faculty of Engineering

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) invites applications for the rank of Associate Professor within its Faculty of Engineering. The position is open across several engineering departments, including Telecommunications, Computer, Electrical & Electronics, and Mathematics & Statistics. The successful candidate will join a technology‑oriented public university that emphasizes teaching excellence, research impact, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise student projects and theses.
• Lead research initiatives, secure funding, and publish findings in reputable journals.
• Provide academic and administrative service to the department and faculty committees.
• Engage in community outreach and professional consultancy activities.
• Mentor junior faculty and contribute to faculty development programs.

Required profile

• Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or applied science discipline.
• Have been appointed as an Associate Professor by a recognized university, or be a Senior Lecturer eligible for promotion under GCTU’s promotion process.
• Possess a minimum of four years experience as a Senior Lecturer.
• Demonstrate at least ten peer‑reviewed journal publications in recognized outlets.
• Provide names and contact details of three referees.
