Business Development Manager – Steel Trading (Ghana)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth across Ghana’s steel market. You will identify high‑value opportunities in hot‑rolled coil (HRC), cold‑rolled coil (CRC), galvanized (GI) and pre‑painted galvanized (PPGI) products, shaping our market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical consultation to contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyse Ghanaian market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning and demand patterns to create localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance teams to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships while expanding market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major trade events and industry associations to boost brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of international steel trading experience with a proven import/export track record.
• Strong negotiation abilities, commercial acumen and an established network within Ghana’s steel industry.
• Self‑starter, able to work independently, comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
