Category Manager – Global Supply Chain

About the role

We are seeking a Category Manager to join American Tower’s Global Supply Chain organization, leading the sourcing function for a specific spend area. The role partners cross‑functionally to ensure best‑in‑class product quality and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and implement complex business strategies for the assigned spend category, setting short‑ and long‑range objectives and performance metrics.
• Design and develop sourcing strategies, lead tactical and innovative sourcing programs, and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Conduct internal and external research to keep commodity strategies current, identify risks and uncover value‑driving opportunities.
• Identify and manage operational risks while encouraging innovation.
• Advise stakeholders on supply‑chain best practices, negotiation tactics, and supplier base insights.
• Lead the development of strategic supplier partnerships to enhance total value.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; engineering, business or supply‑management concentration preferred.
• 6‑8 years of progressive experience in sourcing or procurement within a supply‑chain or strategic sourcing team.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM or CPIM strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
