Communications National Service Personnel (NSP) Internship

About the role

The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is seeking a Communications National Service Personnel (NSP) to support its communications, knowledge management and advocacy team for one year. This internship offers hands‑on experience in digital media, content creation, and event support within a dynamic policy‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and upload weekly content on ACET’s social media channels using scheduling tools.
• Monitor online engagement and suggest actions to increase reach.
• Design event flyers, welcome cards and other digital assets in Canva, following existing templates.
• Manage technical setup for Zoom webinars, including speaker links and live assistance.
• Assist in curating and formatting the quarterly newsletter via Mailchimp.
• Support media monitoring and content uploads as directed by the Editorial and Content Lead.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a National Service program.
• Strong interest in communications, policy, and economic development.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canva for graphic design.
• Experience using Zoom for webinars.
• Familiarity with Mailchimp for newsletter creation.
• Knowledge of social media scheduling tools.
