Copywriter (francophone)

About the role

We are seeking a senior copywriter who can craft high‑impact, culturally resonant copy for francophone markets in West Africa. The role will lead the development of compelling narratives in French (and English) across a range of channels while ensuring brand consistency and creative excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Write original, high‑quality copy in French and English for campaigns, digital, social, film, CRM and activation projects.
• Adapt and localise global creative assets to reflect the linguistic and cultural nuances of francophone audiences, with a preference for Wolof where required.
• Collaborate with art directors and designers to co‑create integrated campaign concepts.
• Present copy ideas to internal teams and clients, incorporating feedback while protecting the core concept.
• Conduct research on client categories, audiences and competitors to inform messaging.
• Maintain error‑free copy that aligns with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and escalating risks early.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional copywriting experience, preferably in an agency setting.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence for French‑speaking markets.
• Deep understanding of cultural nuances in West African francophone audiences.
• Excellent written communication skills in French and English; Wolof knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively across account, production and digital teams.

Required skills

• Fluent French (native or near‑native).
• Fluent English.
• Proficiency in Wolof (preferred).
