Country Manager – Business Development (Ghana)

About the role

The Country Manager – Business Development will act as the senior representative for a leading diversified industrial group in Ghana. Reporting to the Group, the role is responsible for building market intelligence, relationships and a qualified pipeline to drive growth across industrial, energy, infrastructure and related sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual business development strategy aligned with Group priorities.
• Identify, assess and shape new opportunities, maintaining a quantified pipeline and preparing detailed opportunity briefs.
• Monitor political, economic, competitive and regulatory developments, providing timely market intelligence and early warnings.
• Build senior‑level relationships with government institutions, regulators, national companies, investors and strategic partners.
• Lead early‑stage commercial discussions, support negotiations and coordinate executive visits and presentations.
• Manage the local business development team, approved budget and monthly reporting while ensuring compliance with governance and integrity standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, finance, international relations or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 12‑15 years of relevant experience, including senior responsibility in business development, investment, commercial management or government‑facing projects.
• Deep knowledge of Ghana’s political economy, institutions and decision‑making networks.
• Proven record of originating and advancing material business opportunities in capital‑intensive sectors such as industrial, energy, infrastructure, mining or logistics.
• Ghanaian national or candidate with substantial recent experience in the Ghanaian market.
• Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking, negotiation and executive communication skills.
• Fluency in English; French proficiency is an advantage.
