Deputy Internal Auditor

About the role

The University seeks a dynamic, self‑motivated Deputy Internal Auditor to coordinate and supervise all auditing functions, as well as manage related administrative processes. Reporting to the Director of Audit, the role supports fiscal integrity and compliance across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Audit in managing the audit office in line with the Technical Universities Act, 2016 and other regulations.
• Control and maintain financial transactions and accounting records to meet government and accounting standards.
• Review monthly and annual financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare operating budgets, oversee multi‑year fiscal planning, and coordinate annual audits.
• Analyze budgets for the Director of Audit’s review.
• Plan, direct, and supervise audit personnel.
• Develop, implement, and maintain auditing and administrative policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum research Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Chartered Accountant status with membership in ACCA, ICA, CPA or equivalent.
• At least six (6) years of senior internal audit experience in a university, industry, or public practice, including managerial responsibilities.
• Evidence of publications or position papers on audit work for external assessment.
• Computer literate with proficiency in accounting/auditing software.
• Analytical, result‑oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
