About the role
The Investment Specialist will lead the technical implementation of investment‑readiness and pipeline‑development activities for micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs), financial institutions and ecosystem partners in Ghana. Reporting to the UNCDF Programme Management Specialist and working closely with regional colleagues, the role supports UNCDF’s mandate to mobilise capital for SDG‑aligned projects.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a documented pipeline of MSMEs, financial institutions and ecosystem partners in Ghana, providing monthly updates against agreed work‑plan targets.
- Conduct initial screening, segmentation and detailed due‑diligence of potential investees, covering financial, operational, legal, environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects.
- Design and coordinate tailored technical assistance interventions to improve the bankability of MSMEs, offering hands‑on advisory support on financial structuring, record‑keeping, business planning and creditworthiness.
