Director: Geology and Exploration

About the role

The Director: Geology and Exploration will lead the geology function at Iduapriem Mine, driving sustainable resource growth and supporting gold production. Reporting to senior executive leadership, you will shape and execute the exploration strategy for the Africa Business Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a forward‑looking exploration strategy aligned with corporate goals and market dynamics.
• Identify, evaluate and lead new exploration opportunities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Oversee all drilling programmes, budget allocations and resource modelling to ensure technical precision and financial prudence.
• Maintain integrity and accuracy of geological data reporting in compliance with JORC and NI 43‑101 standards.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of geologists, providing mentorship, succession planning and fostering a culture of innovation and safety.
• Manage mineral resource estimation, classification and annual reporting in line with corporate standards.
• Provide technical guidance during feasibility studies, life‑of‑mine planning and mine‑to‑mill reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and embed ESG principles into all exploration activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MSc) or Bachelor’s with Honours (BSc Hons) in Geology, Earth Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 15 years progressive experience in mining geology and exploration, with at least 8 years in senior leadership.
• Proven track record in mineral resource estimation, exploration planning and open‑pit gold mining environments.
• Eligibility for Minerals Commission Competency Certificate for Geology Manager and a valid driver’s licence.
• Experience acting as a Qualified Person (QP) for gold deposits and knowledge of international reporting standards.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in 3D geological modelling and resource estimation software.
• Qualified Person (QP) certification for mineral resources.
• In‑depth knowledge of JORC reporting standards.
• In‑depth knowledge of NI 43‑101 reporting standards.
