Director, International Affairs & Diplomacy Centre

About the role

The University of Ghana invites applications for the position of Director of the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD). Reporting to the Provost of the College of Humanities, the Director will lead the Centre from 1 January 2026, shaping its academic, research and outreach agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for LECIAD, ensuring alignment with university policies and statutes.
• Oversee the delivery of approved programmes and activities, maintaining high standards of efficiency and order.
• Manage human, financial and material resources in accordance with university regulations.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across Arts, Social Sciences, Business and Law.
• Promote international networks and attract research funding for the Centre.

Required profile

• Hold professorial status in an academic or research institution, or be an industry professional eligible for such a position.
• Demonstrated academic leadership in teaching, research and extension within relevant disciplines.
• Proven managerial and administrative experience with a collegial approach.
• Ability to secure research and development funding.
• Vision and drive to guide the growth and development of the Centre.
