Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will serve as the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Advisor to the Vice‑Chancellor of Koforidua Technical University. The role carries overall responsibility for the university’s financial health, revenue collection, expenditure control and compliance with statutory accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions and supervise accounting officers.
• Collect all legitimate revenue due to the university and ensure timely receipt.
• Control expenditures in line with university objectives, budgets and governing approvals.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with the Technical Universities Act 2016, Act 992, harmonised statutes and applicable accounting standards.
• Liaise with external auditors to secure audited financial statements.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum six years’ experience as Deputy Director of Finance or equivalent in a university or similar institution.
• Analytical, results‑oriented, innovative and able to work independently under pressure.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Strong IT skills.
