Director, Research and Consultancy

About the role

The Ghana Technology University College seeks a senior academic leader to head its Research and Consultancy unit. The role will drive the university’s research agenda, secure funding, and strengthen collaborations with national and international institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead research and consultancy strategies aligned with the university’s mission.
• Identify, prepare, and submit grant proposals to public and private funding bodies.
• Manage awarded grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
• Build and maintain a network of academic and industry partners locally and abroad.
• Oversee research staff, promote high‑quality publications, and ensure scholarly standards.

Required profile

• PhD with a distinguished record of academic leadership.
• Minimum five years experience in a tertiary institution, including at least three years in a senior leadership role such as Faculty Dean or Head of Department.
• Proven ability to secure national and international research funding.
• Scholarly credentials meeting senior lecturer standards, with a strong publication record.

Required skills

• Expertise in proposal development, submission, and post‑award reporting.
• Budget management for research projects.
• Familiarity with grant‑management software and related tools.
