Driver – Transport Staff & Materials

About the role

The Ghana Health Nest is seeking a reliable driver to transport staff, partners and essential materials safely between field sites, regional and district health offices, and meeting venues. The role supports the Transport Manager in ensuring timely and secure movement of people and goods across the Accra and Tema regions.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff, partners and materials to and from designated locations as scheduled.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections (brakes, tyres, fuel, lubricants) and promptly report any faults.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption records and service schedules.
• Assist logistics for malaria commodity distribution and supervision visits.
• Carry out official errands such as document dispatch and procurement runs.
• Observe road safety regulations and adhere to the GHS Transport Policy.
• Maintain confidentiality on all official matters.

Required profile

• Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence appropriate to the vehicle type with a clean record.
• Minimum SSCE/WASSCE or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of driving experience, preferably in the public or health sector.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and local road networks.
• Strong safety consciousness, defensive driving skills and ability to navigate remote areas.
• Excellent punctuality, reliability, integrity and discretion.
