Electrical Field Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

The Electrical Field Engineer (Renewables) will lead the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of solar power systems and electric‑vehicle charging equipment at client sites across Ghana and West Africa. Based in Accra, you will conduct electrical assessments, prepare technical reports and ensure all work complies with local standards and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee on‑site installation, commissioning and testing of renewable energy and EV supply equipment.
• Perform electrical assessments and produce detailed technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian electrical codes, safety standards and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in the field.
• Coordinate with project managers, technicians and external partners.
• Provide technical support during project planning and execution.
• Collaborate with clients to optimise system performance and support training activities.

Required profile

• Degree (HND, BTech, BSc) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience in on‑site field engineering, preferably in renewable energy, solar installations or power distribution.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, regulatory requirements and QA practices.
• Ability to travel to project sites across Ghana and West Africa and work outdoors.
