Engineering Supervisor – Shaft Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead shaft maintenance at our Obuasi underground mine. The role ensures safe, compliant, and cost‑effective operation of the shaft plant while maximising availability.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise cage operators and shaft maintenance technicians.
• Ensure compliance with LI2182, Ghanaian regulations, and the site Environmental Management Plan.
• Oversee statutory inspections, material transport, and all shaft‑related activities.
• Review, approve and sign off maintenance plans, designs, testing, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Monitor cost, schedule and quality against the Feasibility Study and project execution plans.
• Identify non‑conforming work, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain the Shaft Engineering Management Plan.
• Promote a zero‑tolerance HSE culture and lead by example.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent HND/MET).
• Minimum 5 years experience supervising shaft maintenance in a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of statutory shaft regulations (LI2182) and Ghana mining approvals.
• Proven ability to manage teams, schedules and documentation to meet project objectives.
