Environment and Climate Change (ECC) Technical Expert – Consultancy

About the role

The Accelerating Change Through Innovation in Agricultural TVET (ACTIVATE) project, implemented by WUSC with support from the Mastercard Foundation, seeks an Environment and Climate Change (ECC) Technical Expert. The expert will provide specialized technical assistance to formal Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) institutions in Ghana, integrating climate‑resilient and green‑skill components into curricula and campus operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead capacity‑building on ECC‑integrated curriculum delivery, including development of a comprehensive ECC Training Delivery Manual and facilitation of national and cascading Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes.
• Support institutional greening by facilitating workshops, guiding the creation of campus Greening Action Plans focused on energy efficiency, water conservation and waste management, and providing technical back‑stopping and coaching to ensure sustainable implementation.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Education or a related field.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in climate‑smart agriculture, TVET systems strengthening, and delivering Training of Trainers programmes.
• Proven experience working with public regulators (e.g., CTVET, MoFA, MoE) and formal tertiary/ATVET institutions.
