Fleet Operations Manager – Taxi Services

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Fleet Operations Manager to lead the day‑to‑day performance of our taxi fleet in Accra and Tema. The role serves as the operational backbone, ensuring vehicles are road‑ready, drivers are supported, and financial processes run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, interview and onboard new taxi drivers, maintaining a robust driver pool.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, coordinate with mechanics and electricians, negotiate repair costs and ensure quick turnaround.
• Monitor vehicle condition, identify driver‑caused damages and recover repair expenses from responsible parties.
• Provide technical assistance to drivers using the Yango driver application, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate driver shift records in Google Sheets and generate regular reports on vehicle status, debtor lists and financial performance.
• Control driver payments and collect vehicle rental fees on schedule.
• Execute ad‑hoc operational tasks assigned by the Fleet Management Team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vehicle repair coordination or technical fleet management, preferably within a taxi or car‑rental environment.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and select personnel for operational tasks.
• Strong analytical mindset, capable of questioning assumptions and defending company interests.
• Resilient, results‑oriented and able to handle conflict with professionalism.
• Valid driver’s licence and confident driving skills.
