Freelance Music Reviewer / Content Writer

About the role

We are seeking passionate freelance writers to review incoming music submissions across a range of genres, including Pop, R&B, Rock, Country, Afrobeats and Christian music. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere, set your own schedule, and earn on a commission basis.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to and critically evaluate music tracks submitted by artists.
• Draft clear, engaging reviews, artist profiles and editorial features that match the agency’s voice.
• Collaborate with remote editors to revise content, pitch story ideas and meet publishing deadlines.
• Conduct artist interviews and adapt content for digital distribution platforms.
• Stay updated on global music trends to ensure relevance and freshness of articles.

Required profile

• Strong listening ear with the ability to write insightful reviews across multiple genres.
• Proven writing portfolio – published samples, blog posts or music journalism pieces.
• Excellent self‑editing, research and storytelling skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to manage high submission volumes independently.
• Familiarity with WordPress and basic SEO/content optimisation.
