General Manager – Restaurant Operations

About the role

The General Manager will lead daily operations of a high‑volume restaurant serving the Accra and Tema regions. This senior position oversees all functional areas, ensures service excellence, and drives profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily restaurant activities including food preparation, order processing, dispatch, and shift coordination.
• Set performance expectations and supervise managers, kitchen staff, customer‑service personnel, drivers and support teams.
• Monitor sales, operating expenses, food and labour costs, stock usage, wastage, pricing, margins and reconcile daily sales.
• Review operational and financial reports, taking timely actions to improve profitability, speed and productivity.
• Ensure accurate order processing and timely delivery; investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, Finance, HR, Logistics and other support functions.
• Oversee staff scheduling, attendance, coaching, performance management and compliance with procedures.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and asset protection.
• Manage inventory levels, requisitions, stock movement and wastage controls in partnership with Stores and Kitchen teams.
• Provide operational updates and recommendations to senior management and support business‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, HND or equivalent in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in restaurant, hospitality or high‑volume food‑service operations.
• At least two years in a management role with proven budgeting, cost‑control and inventory‑management expertise.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• High integrity, sound judgement and ability to stay organized in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Experience with inventory management systems.
• Experience with restaurant‑management software.
