Head of Business Development – West Africa Mining Software

About the role

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Business Development Leader to join a global leader in mine planning and mining software. You will be responsible for building the company’s presence across Ghana and the wider West African market, creating a strong commercial pipeline and establishing the business as a key technology partner for mining companies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities across Ghana and the broader West African mining market.
• Build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders in mining companies and operations.
• Identify and introduce the company’s software and consulting solutions to expand usage.
• Create and manage a regional sales pipeline, converting opportunities into sustainable revenue.
• Support existing customers through renewals, licence growth and additional solutions.
• Represent the business at industry events and trade shows across the region.
• Prepare commercial proposals and collaborate closely with technical and consulting teams.
• Help lay the foundations for a larger West African team in the future.

Required profile

• 10–15+ years of experience in business development or sales within mining software/technology.
• Strong understanding of mining operations and the challenges faced by mining companies.
• Established network across Ghana and/or the wider West African mining industry.
• Proven ability to develop new markets, territories or customer relationships.
• Independent, hands‑on approach with ownership of a developing region.
• Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills at senior and executive level.
• Fluency in English and French; a mining engineering, geology or similar technical background is advantageous.
