Head of Client Coverage Ghana & West Africa

About the role

The Head of Client Coverage Ghana and West Africa will lead the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) coverage function across Ghana and the wider West African region. Reporting to senior bank leadership, you will be responsible for driving client acquisition, retention and revenue growth while shaping the bank’s commercial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Business and CIB Coverage teams at country and regional level, ensuring sales and service performance meet targets.
• Develop and execute a country and regional CIB coverage strategy aligned with pan‑Africa product and sector heads.
• Acquire and retain key corporate and public‑sector clients, building relationships with CEOs and senior officials.
• Optimize share‑of‑wallet, drive market‑share growth and oversee enterprise development and transformation initiatives.
• Monitor performance against scorecards, identify root causes of under‑performance and implement remediation plans.
• Act as the senior face of CIB coverage in the region and lead all CIB sector heads in Ghana.
• Enhance customer experience by defining service standards, addressing service failures and tracking leading indicators.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience (minimum 10 years) in corporate or investment banking.
• Proven track record of client acquisition, revenue growth and market‑share expansion.
• Strong relationships with senior corporate and public‑sector leaders.
• Strategic thinker with ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive transformation.
