HR Business Partner – Commercial & Support Functions

About the role

The HR Business Partner will support the commercial and support functions of a leading FMCG company in Ghana, translating business plans into people strategies and enabling managers to develop high‑performing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leadership of Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and IT, attending management meetings and integrating HR into planning cycles.
• Develop annual people plans covering headcount, capability, succession, engagement and cost.
• Lead workforce planning, role design and business case development for new or changed positions.
• Manage end‑to‑end resourcing in collaboration with the Talent Management team.
• Coach line managers on performance, feedback, development and employee relations.
• Handle grievance, disciplinary and performance cases, ensuring lawful and timely resolution.
• Drive the performance cycle, including objective setting, reviews and talent identification.
• Identify successors for critical roles and coordinate development plans.
• Interpret reward policy and advise on pay, promotion and recognition decisions.
• Monitor engagement, attrition and absence, diagnose causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide people analytics and recommendations to senior HR leadership.
• Support change and restructuring initiatives, including consultation and communication.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 + years of HR management experience.
• Membership in CIHRM Ghana, CIPD or SHRM is an advantage.
• Master’s degree in HR or Business Administration is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of the Ghana Labour Act and practical application.
• Proven business partnering capability with commercial leaders.
• Commercial awareness of sales and distribution environments.

Required skills

• Computer literate – MS Word, spreadsheets, HRMS and reporting tools.
• Valid driver’s license.
