Human Resources Manager for International School

About the role

The International School in Abelemkpe, Accra seeks a strategic Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions. You will partner with senior leadership to attract, develop, and retain high‑quality teaching and support staff while fostering a safe and positive work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the school’s educational philosophy.
• Provide HR advice and support to the Head of School, senior managers, and department heads.
• Create, review, and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain confidential employee records and produce regular HR reports for decision‑making.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for teaching, administrative, operational, and support roles, including job description drafting, advertising, interview coordination, and background checks.
• Design and deliver onboarding and orientation programmes for new hires.
• Manage employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
• Support compensation and benefits design, and ensure accurate data for monthly payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with Ghana labour law and safeguarding requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum five years (60 months) of HR management experience, preferably within a school or educational institution.
• Proven ability to develop HR policies and lead recruitment initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian employment legislation and safeguarding standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with senior leadership.
