Human Resources Manager – International School

About the role

The International School in Abelemkpe, Accra seeks a strategic Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions. You will partner with senior leadership to attract, develop, and retain high‑quality teaching and support staff while fostering a safe, positive work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement HR strategies aligned with the school’s educational philosophy.
• Provide HR advice to the Head of School, senior managers and department heads.
• Develop, review and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain confidential employee records and produce regular HR reports for decision‑making.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment for teaching, administrative and operational positions, including job description creation, advertising, interview coordination and background checks.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation and staff development programmes.
• Manage employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary actions and investigations.
• Support compensation and benefits administration and ensure accurate data for payroll processing.

Required profile

• Minimum five years (60 months) of HR management experience, preferably within a school or educational institution.
• Demonstrated ability to develop HR policies and lead recruitment cycles.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian labour law and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent communication and confidential handling of sensitive information.
