About the role
Masara N’arkizi Farmers Association is seeking a Junior Agronomic Officer to lead the planning, implementation and management of its field research trials across the Northern Region of Ghana. The role reports to the Extension Manager and the trial results will directly support the association’s agronomic decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Design, set up and supervise agronomic field trials on association farms.
- Collect, record and process trial data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor field conditions, supervise chemical applications and adjust experiments to site limitations.
- Prepare and present trial findings to inform operational and development strategies.
Required profile
- Minimum HND or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience managing field trials.
- IT literate with ability to use specialised data software.
- Valid motorbike driving licence.
Required skills
- Statistical planning and data analysis for field experiments.
- Knowledge of Ghanaian soil types and major staple and cash crops.
- Field monitoring and chemical application supervision.
- Use of specialised software for data recording and processing.
- Report writing and presentation of research results.
