About the role
The University of Ghana is seeking a qualified Legal Officer to join the Office of the Legal Counsel. Reporting to the Legal Counsel, the incumbent will support the university’s legal functions across a range of academic and administrative matters.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on university matters and draft, review, or interpret agreements and policies.
- Represent the university in dispute resolution proceedings, including out‑of‑court settlements.
- Support disciplinary boards, appeals board, anti‑corruption committee and other governance bodies.
- Review initiatives, decisions and processes for legal compliance.
- Serve on planning, policy‑making and other relevant committees as assigned.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and professional qualification to practice law in Ghana.
- Minimum three years of relevant post‑pupillage experience.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
