Locum Physician Assistant – Akosombo, Aboadze & Accra

About the role

The Volta River Authority is seeking qualified Ghanaian Physician Assistants to work on a locum basis across its hospitals in Akosombo, Aboadze and Accra. The role involves delivering general medical services, handling shift duties and supporting the Hospital Superintendent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general medical services in the Akosombo, Accra and Aboadze hospitals.
• Run normal, standby and shift duties as required.
• Complete insurance claim forms accurately.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Hospital Superintendent.

Required profile

• Certificate in Physician Assistantship.
• Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Completion of Internship/National Service.
• Knowledge of industrial safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to counsel and educate patients.
• Computer literate.
• Demonstrated leadership and guidance capabilities.
• Team player with negotiation and motivation skills.
• Analytical, supervisory and performance‑driven mindset.
