Locum Staff Nurse (Akosombo, Aboadze & Accra)

About the role

The Volta River Authority is seeking qualified Ghanaian nurses to join its health service department on a locum basis. The role involves delivering general nursing and midwifery care across its hospitals in Akosombo, Aboadze and Accra.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general nursing and midwifery services to patients in the three VRA hospitals.
• Perform normal, shift and standby duties as required.
• Collaborate with the Hospital Superintendent and follow assigned protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife certificates.
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
• Proactive, dedicated and performance‑driven attitude.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices (preferred).
