Logistics Assistant (Sea/Air) – Accra & Tema

About the role

At OBT Group, the Logistics Assistant (Sea/Air) supports efficient logistics operations across sea and air freight, ensuring documentation aligns with company procedures and compliance standards. The role requires strong coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quotations, bookings, shipping instructions, draft BLs/AWBs and other import/export documentation.
• Coordinate logistics operations with airlines, carriers, customs, port authorities, truckers and clients.
• Monitor trucking and inland transport to ensure smooth cargo movement from port to final destination.
• Maintain continuous communication flow and report operational updates, exceptions and delays.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of customs procedures, port handling processes and trucking coordination.
• Knowledge of sea, air or land import/export documentation (MBL/HBL, delivery orders, gate‑in/gate‑out).
• Experience with cross‑border and temporary importation tracking.
• Understanding of local customs legislation and customs systems.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in logistics or related fields.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in sea and air freight, port operations or related logistics ground operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with transport management systems.
• Familiarity with customs systems.
