Mathematics Teacher - Upper Primary

About the role

The Mathematics Teacher – Upper Primary will deliver engaging, learner‑centered mathematics lessons to upper primary students in line with the school’s international curriculum. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Accra and focuses on fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality mathematics lessons for upper primary learners.
• Teach mathematics in accordance with the school’s international curriculum and IGCSE standards where applicable.
• Develop differentiated activities to meet diverse student needs.
• Assess, record, and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Identify learning gaps and implement targeted intervention strategies.
• Maintain an engaging, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
• Prepare students for internal and external assessments.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and development.
• Communicate student progress effectively with parents/guardians.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a related field.
• Relevant teaching qualification/certification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably at upper primary level.
• Demonstrable experience teaching IGCSE Mathematics (essential).
• Previous experience in an international school setting (essential).
• Strong understanding of international curricula and modern mathematics teaching methodologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in integrating technology and digital learning tools into classroom instruction.
