Maths Tutor – Primary & Junior High

About the role

As a Mezzo Maths Tutor you will inspire primary and junior‑high students to develop strong mathematical skills and confidence. You will design and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons, support the Mezzo Maths Interschools Quiz and prepare learners for local and international competitions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver maths lessons aligned with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Cambridge curricula for upper primary and junior high levels.
• Prepare students for the Mezzo Maths Interschools Quiz and other maths competitions through structured tutoring and regular practice.
• Assess student progress using quizzes, formative assessments and feedback tools, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with curriculum developers and event coordinators to create and refine training materials.
• Foster a disciplined, enthusiastic learning environment that promotes a growth mindset.
• Communicate regularly with parents, school staff and the Mezzo Maths team about student progress and needs.
• Participate in planning meetings, workshops and team reviews to continuously improve tutoring quality.
• Uphold safeguarding and child‑protection standards, ensuring a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all learners.

Required profile

• Diploma, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field.
• Experience teaching primary or junior‑high students is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GES and Cambridge mathematics curricula.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
