Missionary Training Center Teacher

About the role

The Missionary Training Center (MTC) Teacher supports missionaries by delivering curriculum that helps them receive the restored gospel and develop essential missionary skills. This entry‑level, individual‑contributor position works across various training settings, from one‑on‑one coaching to large workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction following the approved curriculum, coordinating with a companion teacher when applicable.
• Coach missionaries in language skills, gospel doctrine (Preach My Gospel), and missionary techniques.
• Facilitate small‑group sessions, large workshops, and monitor Canvas participation and discussion boards.
• Report progress and needs to training supervisors and assist area leadership as requested.
• Participate in weekly training meetings and co‑teacher collaborations.
• Assist in assessing language proficiency of missionaries and teacher applicants.
• Occasionally role‑play as a non‑member and support temporary MTC duties such as Mission Leadership Seminars.

Required profile

• Must be a returned missionary.
• Fluency in the specified second language for language‑teaching positions.
• Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training abilities.
• Strong knowledge of Preach My Gospel doctrine.
• Excellent interpersonal, prioritizing, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• Self‑motivated, receptive to feedback, and able to work well with others.

Required skills

• Fluency in a second language (where applicable).
