OT Platform Engineer

About the role

Newmont is hiring an OT Platform Engineer in Accra (Tema region) on a hybrid basis. The role integrates operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) so that data flows seamlessly between digital and physical environments, while keeping business operations running with minimal disruption. It sits within a global technology organization supporting critical operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate OT and IT systems and support the foundational technology platforms, workplace services and support mechanisms needed for resilient, scalable IT services.
• Assess and solve platform issues, schedule fixes and enhancements based on business impact, security needs and technical complexity, and liaise with development teams to deliver timely improvements.
• Administer user acceptance testing for platform fixes and enhancements.
• Shape platform strategy and maintain the platform product roadmap, including new functionality and enhancements.
• Ensure infrastructure and platforms align with business needs, and focus on ongoing support, maintenance and optimization of products and platforms.
• Run technical development and engineering of products and platforms, and monitor and solve integrated systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of IT across several disciplines, with understanding of complex, interconnected systems.
• Understanding of platform engineering, self-service automation workflows and agentic solutioning.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management and regulatory compliance, and of OT/IT integration best practices.
• Ability to validate results, investigate abnormalities and ensure platform consistency.
• Competency in infrastructure and service management, and in platform technologies.
• Knowledge of the mining or natural resources industry is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Expertise in OT and IT systems, edge computing, AI, machine learning and advanced analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity software.
• Skills in designing and activating platform solutions, organizing talent and fostering a platform mindset.

The role works closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, maintenance, analytics and site leadership teams. Travel to operational sites may be required, and flexibility to support maintenance windows and critical incidents outside normal hours may occasionally be needed.
