AI Conversation Recording Contributor - Akan

About the role

RWS is recruiting Akan speakers to join a speech data collection project that evaluates and improves speech recognition and conversational AI. This is a freelance, remote project with flexible, task-based work of about 2-4 hours per day, starting immediately, paid at 10 USD per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Record or collect natural, spontaneous speech following the project guidelines.
• Capture speech from approved real-life situations such as workplace conversations or casual one-on-one discussions.
• Complete individual or two-person conversational speech tasks, or take part in voice or voice-text interactions with an AI or machine-based system.
• Annotate the collected speech data according to the instructions.
• Provide the required information and metadata for each recording.

Required profile

• Native-level fluency in Akan, with authentic pronunciation and strong everyday familiarity with the language.
• Advanced English to understand written instructions.
• No imitation of dialects or accents that are not your own.
• Experience with speech recording or data annotation is an advantage but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
