Paramedic / Emergency Medical Technician – Accra

About the role

The Bank Hospital in Accra is preparing to open and seeks a qualified Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician to join its emergency response team. You will provide on‑site medical care, transport patients safely, and support the hospital’s pre‑hospital services.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emergency medical calls and assess patient conditions.
• Provide first‑aid, administer medication, pain relief, IV infusions, and dress wounds.
• Operate life‑support equipment such as bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators, external defibrillators and ECG monitors.
• Drive the ambulance, navigate to the scene and to medical facilities while monitoring patient status.
• Communicate patient information to physicians and coordinate hand‑over at the receiving facility.
• Maintain and decontaminate ambulance and medical equipment.
• Prepare accurate incident and treatment reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in paramedical science or equivalent medical training.
• At least one year of paramedic experience.
• Valid EMT‑P certification/EMS license and CPR certification.
• Clean driving record complying with safety policies.
• Excellent physical fitness, stamina and visual acuity.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
