Payroll Specialist / Human Resources Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Payroll Specialist / Human Resources Specialist to manage the end‑to‑end payroll process for a large workforce. You will ensure accurate and timely salary payments while maintaining compliance with Ghanaian labour and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for thousands of employees, calculating wages based on attendance, overtime, shift allowances, bonuses, leave and other variables.
• Maintain up‑to‑date payroll records and employee data in the HR system.
• Reconcile payroll data, investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle statutory deductions and submissions, including PAYE, SSNIT, Tier 2 and Tier 3 pension contributions.
• Generate payroll reports to support labour‑cost analysis and budgeting.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxation and statutory benefits.
• Perform additional payroll and HR‑related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• At least one year of payroll management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or for a large workforce.
• Familiarity with shift‑based and piece‑rate payroll is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Ghana Labour Law and statutory payroll requirements.
• Understanding of PAYE, SSNIT, Tier 2 and Tier 3 pension administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll data analysis.
