Production Engineer – Mining Operations

About the role

The Production Engineer will oversee real‑time dispatch and monitoring of all remnant mining, rehabilitation and backlog activities at our Ghana operation. You will ensure that deferred work packages are completed, prioritize the backlog queue and coordinate rehabilitation to maintain future production access.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate extraction sequencing of remaining pillars and remnants in stopes.
• Maintain a prioritized queue of deferred activities and track progress.
• Enter fleet‑management events, reason codes, cycle times and tonnages per trip.
• Monitor fleet and system alarms, escalating safety issues as required.
• Track dilution and recovery in remnant areas and control ore/waste rock stocks.
• Assist with road maintenance, ramp and access allocation.
• Receive ventilation and gas condition updates before re‑entry.
• Request and confirm critical intra‑shift supplies (rods, bits, explosives, services).
• Coordinate with Maintenance/Infrastructure for intra‑shift windows and service validation.
• Report system, telemetry, voice and data incidents to OEC Systems and maintain shift logbooks.

Required profile

• Demonstrates AngloGold Ashanti’s values and a commitment to zero‑harm safety culture.
• Allocates at least 30% of time to site safety compliance activities.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make decisions based on reliable data outputs.
• Effective communicator able to interface between execution and planning teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with fleet‑management software.
• Experience using OEC Systems for data capture and reporting.
• Ability to monitor and interpret real‑time operational telemetry.
