About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) invites applications for a Professor position within its Faculty of Computing and Information Systems. The role involves teaching, research, supervision, community service and faculty development. The appointment is open across several departments, including Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, and General Studies.

Key responsibilities

• Teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Conducting high‑quality research and publishing in recognized journals.
• Providing community service and engaging with industry partners.
• Contributing to faculty development, curriculum design and academic governance.
• Mentoring junior faculty members and supporting their professional growth.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
• Appointment as Professor by a recognized university with comparable conditions, or at least three years as Associate Professor with fifteen peer‑reviewed publications.
• Eligibility to be appointed as Associate Professor first, if currently at that rank, to undergo the university’s promotion process.
• Demonstrated record of securing research funding.
• Names and addresses of three referees.
