Programs Manager – Youth Employment Initiative

About the role

The Programs Manager will lead the Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) initiative, a donor‑funded program aimed at connecting thousands of Ghanaian youth, especially women, to sustainable employment in the agricultural sector. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on operational management to ensure the program meets its impact targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for the HAPPY program.
• Manage the full project cycle, including design, execution, and sustainable scaling.
• Develop and strengthen operational structures, policies, and processes in line with donor requirements.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team to maximize program impact.
• Oversee program budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management.
• Serve as the primary liaison with donors and partnership staff, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
• Coordinate project planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
• Prepare and submit regular activity and financial reports to donors.
• Collaborate with consultants, technical partners, and industry stakeholders to enhance program delivery.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 7 years of experience in program or project management.
• Proven experience managing donor‑funded initiatives, preferably in youth employment or agricultural development.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Excellent financial management and reporting skills.
• Ability to work across multiple locations (Accra and Tema) and engage diverse stakeholder groups.
