Project Engineer

About the role

The Wilder Institute Ghana LBG is seeking a senior Project Engineer to lead infrastructure projects from concept through completion. You will ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting the organization’s conservation objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver infrastructure projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to close‑out.
• Develop and maintain project scopes, work plans, schedules, budgets and risk registers.
• Provide technical oversight of engineering designs, drawings and specifications, ensuring safety, constructability and compliance.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, manage budget changes and coordinate with finance and procurement.
• Conduct site assessments, evaluate environmental impacts and support selection of delivery models.
• Supervise construction activities, enforce health and safety standards, and perform quality inspections.
• Liaise with government agencies, regulators, contractors, consultants and community stakeholders to secure permits and maintain effective communication.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 7 years (84 months) of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale infrastructure projects within budget and schedule.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, environmental considerations and community relations.
