Quality Control Lead

About the role

Our client, a well‑established Ghanaian food and lifestyle brand, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead to join the factory team. Reporting directly to the Proprietor, you will design and run internal audits, manage the Quality Management System and drive progress toward ISO and HACCP certification.

Key responsibilities

• Design and administer a rotating internal audit programme covering production, raw materials, machinery, storage, supply chain, and personnel, with a designated area of focus per audit cycle.
• Maintain quality documentation and audit records, and lead preparation for regulatory and certification inspections.
• Investigate complaints and non‑conformances, implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and verify the effectiveness of corrective measures.
• Analyse audit data over time to identify systemic trends and advise the Proprietor accordingly.
• Identify deficient controls, duplicated effort, and non‑compliance with policies and standard operating procedures.
• Design and deliver staff training on hygiene, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Prepare and submit formal, evidence‑based audit reports to leadership.

Required profile

• University degree in Food Science, Nutrition or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, quality control or internal audit, preferably within an ISO, HACCP or GMP‑certified environment.
• Experience managing a Quality Management System and leading CAPA or root‑cause investigations.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities, able to present findings to non‑technical leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage staff at all levels.
• Willingness to work both in an office and on the factory floor.
