Registrar (Chief Operating Officer)

About the role

The Registrar serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Koforidua Technical University, reporting directly to the Vice‑Chancellor. The role oversees the day‑to‑day administration of the university, acts as Secretary to the Council and all statutory committees, and provides strategic advice and briefings to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all administrative functions across the university to ensure efficient operations.
• Serve as Secretary to the University Council, Boards, and statutory committees, preparing minutes and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
• Provide strategic advice and briefing materials to the Vice‑Chancellor on institutional matters.
• Lead and supervise administrative staff, fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and impact.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Administration, Management or a related field.
• At least six (6) years of experience as a Deputy Registrar or in a comparable senior administrative role within a university or similar institution.
• Deep understanding of the higher‑education landscape in Ghana.
• Demonstrated high moral standards, integrity, and public accountability.
• Extensive experience interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Appreciable knowledge of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) systems.
