Remote CAD & Simulation Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Remote CAD & Simulation Consultant to support a PAA‑based project for Turing. The contractor will work independently to develop CAD models and run simulations for aerospace, mechanical and electrical components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed CAD models for aero, mechanical and electrical parts.
• Perform simulation and analysis using industry‑standard tools.
• Validate designs with tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB, etc.
• Translate technical requirements into simulation workflows.
• Optimize designs based on simulation results.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams.
• Document methodologies, processes and outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of experience in CAD engineering and simulation.
• Strong fundamentals in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Preferred: PhD in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering.
• Prior experience with leading aerospace or engineering companies is a plus.

Required skills

• CAD tools: CATIA, SolidWorks, FreeCAD.
• Simulation tools: ANSYS, MATLAB, CalculiX, Gmsh, ParaView, OpenFOAM, SU2, XFoil, AVL.
• Electrical design tools: KiCad, ngspice, Qucs‑S, FEMM, openEMS, Octave.
• Aerospace design tools: OpenRocket, OpenVSP.
• Scripting: Python.

What we offer

• Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave).
• Duration: 8 weeks, starting next week.
• Commitment: 20–40 hours per week with at least 4 hours PST overlap.
