About the role
Turing is building large‑language‑model (LLM) evaluation datasets focused on realistic software engineering problems. We need an experienced Ruby engineer to help create verifiable software tasks from public GitHub histories and assess LLM performance on real code.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open‑source libraries.
- Set up and configure code repositories, including Dockerization and environment preparation.
- Evaluate unit‑test coverage and overall code quality.
- Modify and run codebases locally to benchmark LLM bug‑fixing capabilities.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to select challenging repositories and issues.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers on project tasks.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 + years of professional software engineering experience.
- Tech‑lead level competence with complex codebases.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby.
- Solid experience with Git and Docker for pipeline setup.
- Comfortable running, modifying, and testing real‑world projects locally.
- Experience contributing to or evaluating open‑source projects is a plus.
