Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Officer will work full‑time on‑site at Bole Bamboi, ensuring a safe working environment across construction sites and related facilities. This role focuses on promoting safety culture, complying with local regulations, and supporting the company's health and occupational safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and company safety standards.
• Develop and deliver safety training to site teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support implementation of health and occupational safety policies.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow up on corrective actions to verify effectiveness.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, standards and best practices.
• Familiarity with security practices related to construction sites.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Experience on construction or engineering projects, preferably infrastructure or civil works.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively on‑site.
• Knowledge of safety regulations is an advantage.
