Security Projects Specialist

About the role

The Security Projects Specialist will lead the planning, execution, monitoring and finalisation of security infrastructure and technology projects across the Obuasi Mine operational footprint. You will work closely with multidisciplinary internal teams and external security contractors to deliver integrated surveillance, access control and perimeter protection solutions while upholding AngloGold Ashanti’s Zero Harm and human‑rights standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of an on‑site Project Champions team and provide leadership.
• Monitor cost compliance for security capital‑expenditure projects and flag budget variances.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports covering milestones, risks and resource constraints.
• Supervise security vendors and contractors to ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to manage cross‑functional dependencies.
• Ensure all deployments meet the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) framework.
• Develop detailed project scopes, timelines and execution plans using standard project tools.
• Coordinate installation and integration of CCTV networks, fiber‑optic perimeter intrusion detection, biometric access control and centralized control‑room telemetry.
• Spend at least 40% of time in the field to audit safety compliance and promote a zero‑harm culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering security infrastructure projects in an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong ability to manage budgets, track progress and report to senior leadership.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
• Willingness to work on‑site extensively, including field audits and safety checks.
