About the role

The University is looking for a dynamic, self‑motivated senior accounting professional to join its finance team in Koforidua. The Senior Accounting Assistant will support the preparation and verification of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare statements of accounts and related financial reports.
  • Compile and reconcile bank statements on a regular basis.
  • Check and verify current accounts for correctness.
  • Handle relevant correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an HND in Accountancy, or a recognized professional qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least two years of experience.
  • Minimum four years of experience as an Accounting Assistant in a university or comparable institution.
  • Completed national service.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, high sense of responsibility, initiative and discretion.
