About the role
The Investment Specialist will support UNCDF’s portfolio in Ghana by leading technical implementation of investment‑readiness and pipeline development activities for micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs), financial institutions and ecosystem partners.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and adapt pipeline‑sourcing approaches for the Ghanaian market, maintaining a documented pipeline of MSMEs, financial institutions and ecosystem partners with monthly updates.
- Identify, screen and segment potential partners based on investment‑readiness levels and financing needs.
- Design and coordinate calls for applications (RFAs) and sourcing strategies, conducting detailed due‑diligence covering financial, operational, legal and ESG dimensions.
- Assess gaps in financial management, governance, business models and digital capabilities, and design tailored technical assistance to improve bankability.
- Provide hands‑on technical assistance to MSMEs and partner institutions to enhance their investment readiness and facilitate access to appropriate financing solutions.
