Senior Backend Engineer – Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver low‑latency, cloud‑native services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Node.js microservices using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, and RDS.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure, including serverless and containerized solutions.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and create automated testing suites.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation).
• Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed team.
• Experience leading architectural decisions and mentoring junior engineers.
